Archeologists have always noticed that ancient man has always worshiped. Man has it “built- in” to worship. We like to behold whatever we worship. Worship is image oriented. There is much power in images. One of God’s commandments in the Old Testament is “thou shalt not make any graven images….”
Images are a big part of society. We have been shown images can boost performance. Mirrors are often used to enhance image. Weight rooms and beauty salons are just two examples where mirrors are used. We are much more than what we appear to be. We base our perception of ourselves of what we see in the mirror. Look in the mirror and ask if you admire the image you project or what is inside you. Remember there is no separation from God. God is in each and every one of us.
Are you under self-control or are you controlled by the images which others have made for you? Being in self-control is the way to be in touch with God. By being in touch with God, then our hearts and minds will be filled with the images God has intended for us.
